About the Green Room

Who are we?

Carlisle Green Room Club has been an amateur theatre in the city since 1951, and operates on a totally voluntary basis.

We stage 6 plays and a pantomime each year, and in between our own in house performances, take hirings from other theatre groups (where there is availability).

We are keen to recruit new members who wish to take an active role in the club. There are opportunities for performing or directing on stage, helping through stage management and technical work, such as lighting, sound, set building and painting, as well as helping with our wardrobe.

If you are not interested in helping with the production side, perhaps the hospitality side would be of interest. You could help in the Bar, or Front of House by welcoming people, selling programmes and tickets, making and serving tea and coffee or drinks, and showing the audience to their seats.

If this would be too much, why not become a Patron? That way you can keep in touch through our newsletters, and benefit from priority bookings.

If you are interested, please see the membership page for more information on how to join!
